What is The AECN?

  • The Avoyelles Early Childhood Network (AECN) is a partnership between all local early childhood education providers including childcare centers, family child care, Head Start, and public Pre-K providers.  Volunteers of America serves as the lead agency for AECNetwork.
  • All partners are mandated by the Louisiana Department of Education to track the progress and development of every publicly funded child in the parish.
  • All partners are evaluated by the same assessment tool to ensure quality.
  • All child care and education providers in Avoyelles parish are currently using top rated curricula, as determined by the Louisiana Department of Education.
